This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.788 of 2018 of Banjara Hills Police Station, Hyderabad, registered for the offences alleged under Sections 354 and 323 I.P.C. and Section 3 (2) (va), (1) (r) (s) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/ State. Perused the record.

In the F.I.R., dated 18.08.2018, there is mention of abusing respondent No.2/ de facto complainant in the name of her Caste and there are other allegations constituting the offences alleged. Therefore, continuation of investigation as well as registration of F.I.R. is not abuse of process of law, as contended by the learned counsel for petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3. The petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
