THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.V.SESHA SAI WRIT PETITIION No.2190 of 2018 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Home (AP).

The alleged inaction on the part of the respondentpolice in proceeding with the investigation pursuant to the registration of the crime vide F.I.R.No.116/2017, dated 17.12.2017, is under challenge in the present Writ Petition. When the matter is taken up, written instructions, dated 29.01.2018, furnished by the Inspector of Police, Bandar Town Police Station, are placed on record by the learned Government Pleader. According to the said instructions, on the complaint made by the petitioner herein on 17.12.2017, police registered Cr.No.116/2017, for the alleged offences under Sections 420 and 464 r/w 34 IPC, and investigation is taken up.

It is further stated that, during the course of investigation, four witnesses were examined and their statements were recorded and a letter was also addressed to the Branch Manager, Machilipatnam with a request to produce the attested copies of the documents.

In view of the above written instructions and having regard to the nature and controversy, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent-police to complete the investigation and file report as expeditiously as possible. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
