Petitioner claims that he belongs to Bariki caste and the natural son of his parents. He claims that he applied for issuance of Caste certificate on 29.08.2018. Alleging that so far his application is not processed and no Caste Certificate is issued, this Writ Petition is filed.

When the matter is taken up, learned Government Pleader informs the Court that the petitioner made application in physical form and applications are not allowed in physical form. A person seeking to issue Caste certificate has to apply only through Mee-Seva On-line Web Portal and then only such application will be processed. According to her, the said fact was also informed to the petitioner. However, without applying On-line, he filed the present Writ Petition.

Having regard to the submission of the learned Government Pleader, the counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner would make an application through Mee-Seva and requests for a time frame to be fixed for consideration of his application. 5.

In view of the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to make application for issuance of Caste Certificate through Mee-Seva and if such an application is made, the competent authority shall process the said application and pass appropriate orders, as per law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of such application.
