This writ petition is filed questioning the inaction of the respondents in completing investigation and not filing final report in Crime No.306 of 2017, dated 01.12.2017, registered for the offence under Section 420 IPC and Section 3(i)(f) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, on the file of the 4th respondent - Police Station, despite lapse of more than two years from the date since the said crime is registered. 2.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, dated 10.02.2020, a copy of which is placed on record of this Court, submits that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the 4th respondent registered the aforestated case. During the course of investigation, L.Ws.1 to 7 were examined and recorded their statements. Further, the 4th respondent addressed a requisition to the Tahsildar, Nalgonda, to furnish caste certificates of the complainant and accused and further, addressed letter to the Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records, Nalgonda, on 10.04.2018 and 20.04.2019 with a request to conduct survey and demarcate the land in Survey Nos.800 and 801 of Nalgonda Revenue Mandal. The 4th respondent also addressed a letter to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Nalgonda, on 23.04.2018, 20.04.2019 and 16.09.2019, with a request to conduct survey and demarcate the land in Survey Nos.800 and 801 of Nalgonda Revenue Mandal. It is also stated

that in respect of the said land, there are disputes pending before the Joint Collector, Nalgonda, for which the Investigating Officer addressed a letter on 31.10.2019, with a request to furnish information in relation thereto and the said information and the survey as requested by the Investigating Officer is pending. However, it is stated that the respondents will finalize and file a report in the matter at the earliest. 4.

Having regard to the said submission made, since the respondents have indicated that the investigation into the matter would be completed and a final report will be filed before the concerned authority, this Court is of the view that the respondent authorities shall complete the investigation into the case and file a final report within a period of eight

(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

Subject to the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
