THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION NOs.5134, 5137, 5142, 5376, 5470, 5498, 5839 AND COMMON ORDER:

In all these cases, the petitioners challenged the demand made by the Assistant Director of Mines and Geology relating to the payment of stamp duty.

This Court passed an interim order in all these cases directing the respondents not to insist upon the payment of stamp duty @ 5% for registration of lease deed pursuant to the demand made by the 1st respondent subject to the condition that the petitioner pays the deficit stamp duty payable under Article 31 (a)(ii) of Schedule I-A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899.

3. It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioners that they paid the deficit stamp duty as directed by this Court and the period of lease was also completed. Accordingly, nothing survives for consideration in these writ petitions.

4. Recording the said submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners, these writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending in these petitions shall stand closed.
