When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is informed that the petitioner has retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation and the relief sought by the petitioner in the writ petition cannot be granted.

In view of the same, the writ petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.

Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed in consequence.
