The present writ petition is filed to declare the action of respondents in not fixing the rate of admission for the petitioners theatres as per their applications dated 27.12.2019 and 08.02.2020 permanently, as illegal, null, void and arbitrary.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Home.

It is not in dispute that the petitioners have approached the licensing authority by making representations dated 27.12.2019 and 08.02.2020 seeking for enhancement of rates for admission into theatres. 4.

Since the petitioners have filed representations on 27.12.2019 and 08.02.2020 with the licensing authority, the said authority shall consider the same in accordance with law, if the said authority is vested with the power to consider the said applications. Taking into account the fact that the petitioners made applications more than a month back, the respondent authority is directed to pass orders as expeditiously as possible.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
