This Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ accused for grant of anticipatory bail in Crime No.14 of 2019 of Mahadevpur Police Station, Jayashankar Bhupalpally District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of IPC. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-State and perused the record.

As per the material placed on record, this petitioner/ accused forged the signature of the Tahsildar and fabricated the B.C. Caste Certificate to contest the election as Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Mahadevpur. On a report lodged by the Mandal Parishad Development Officer, Mandal Praja Parishad, Mahadevpur, this case is registered and is under investigation. There are specific and grave allegations against the petitioner/ accused fabricating the Caste Certificate to make unlawful gain. The matter requires thorough investigation. Under these circumstances, the petitioner/ accused is not entitled for the relief under Section 438 of Cr.P.C.

Hence, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
