This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the following relief - " It is therefore prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not disposing of the appeal dated 6.2.2014 submitted on 12.2.2014 and denying the benefit of accreditation as illegal, high handed, violation of Andhra Pradesh State Media Accreditation Rules, 2005 and Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to issue accreditation card for further period as provided under Andhra Pradesh State Media Accreditation Rules, 2005 while making it clear that accreditation renewal cannot be denied for the petitioner and pass such order or orders as the Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice."

Heard Sri K.S.Murthy, learned counsel for the

petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for GAD (A.P).

According to the petitioner he filed a statutory appeal under Rule 17 of the A.P. State Media Accreditation Rules, 2005 on 12.2.2014. The only grievance in this writ petition is that the said statutory appeal filed by the petitioner herein has not been addressed so far by the respondents herein.

As per the material available on record, eventhough the petitioner has filed appeal long back on 12.2.2014 no orders have been passed by the 2nd respondent and this Court finds no justification in keeping the said appeal pending.

In the circumstances, taking into consideration the totality of the circumstances explained by the petitioner in the writ affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and nature of controversy, this writ petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner on 12.2.2014 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of t h i s order , after affording personal hearing to the petitioner, as per law.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous applications, if any pending in the writ petition, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to cost.
