THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE SMT JUSTICE KONGARA VIJAYA LAKSHMI Writ Petition No. 2724 of 2018 Order: (Per the Hon'ble The Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) Sri S.Satyam Reddy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, Sri A.K.Jayaprakash Rao, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.3 and Sri D. Ranganath Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.4, would agree that, instead of keeping the Writ Petition pending on the file of this Court, the Writ Petition itself could be disposed of in terms of the interim relief sought for. The petitioners are all employees of the erstwhile Housing Board having retired from service before 2.6.2014. The pay scales of employees of the Housing Board were revised in 2013.

However, the benefit of the revised pay scales was not extended to retired employees. The petitioners have invoked the jurisdiction of this Court seeking payment of Dearness relief from 1.7.2015 to 31.8.2017, and enhanced pension as per the revised pay scales with effect from 2.6.2014. By way of interim relief, they seek a direction to the respondents to pass orders on their representation dated 13.10.2017.

We consider it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition directing both Respondent Nos.3 and 4 to consider the petitioners' representation, and pass orders thereupon with utmost expedition, and in any event not later than four weeks from today. The decision taken by Respondent Nos. 3 and 4 shall be communicated to the petitioners within the aforesaid period of four weeks.

The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
