THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.42744 of 2016 ORDER:
This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed seeking the following relief:
"declaring action of the respondent no. 3 and 4 in calling the petitioner to their police stations and obtaining signatures on 3rd of every month by the 4th respondent as well as obtaining signatures on every week by the 3rd respondent authority failing which threatening the petitioner that they will open rowdy sheet against the petitioner all these actions illegal, improper and violation of Article 14, 21 of Constitution of India and consequential direct the respondents 2 to 4 not to call the petitioner to their police stations for his appearance as well as to obtain signatures of petitioner."

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home.

The main grievance of the petitioner is that without registering any crime against him, respondents 3 and 4 are calling the petitioner to police station and obtaining his signatures and also threatening him to open rowdy sheet against him.

Considering the grievance of the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondents 2 to 4 not to harass the petitioner without there being any case registered against him for a cognizable offence.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed. No costs.
