This writ petition is filed seeking writ of mandamus to call for the initial seniority list prepared at the time of selection of candidates with the ranking given to the petitioner in Scale-I, by setting aside the seniority list of Grade I Branch Manager through Staff Circular No.22 and Staff Circular No.6, dated 27.02.2002 and 26.07.2002 respectively and direct the respondent to prepare a seniority list of Branch Manager Grade I strictly based on ranking assigned by the committee at the time of appointment of the petitioner and also consider the petitioner for the promotion to the Grade II Branch Manager strictly based on the seniority on merits.

2. Though the writ petition was admitted on 21.02.2003, no interim order was granted.

3. None appeared on either side.

4. This writ petition was filed in the year 2003 and that writ petitioner was aged 47 years at the time of filing of the writ petition. By efflux of time, the petitioner might have attained the age of superannuation. In view of the same, the cause in the writ petition does not survive for consideration. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
