Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri C.Sunilkumar Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-Corporation.

The petitioner while working as driver in the respondent-Corporation met with an accident on 20.4.2009, he suffered grievous injuries and ultimately incurred disability. He was referred to RTC Hospital at Tarnaka, Hyderabad wherein he was initially treated and was shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad (for short "NIMS") for further treatment. The doctors at NIMS have issued a certificate to the effect that he is eligible to discharge light duties. The said certificate was issued on 7.12.2011. Thereafter, the petitioner made several representations to the respondent-Corporation to provide him alternative employment, but they have not been considered so far. The petitioner therefore filed the present writ petition to issue a direction to the respondentCorporation to provide him alternative employment in terms of Section 47 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 ( for short "the Act 1995").

Having regard to the submissions made on either side, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to examine the case of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders regarding the claim of the petitioner for alternative employment as per the rules and in terms of Section 47 of the Act, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
