Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for home for respondents 1 to 5. 2.

This writ petition is filed alleging that in the guise of registration of Crime No.289 of 2018 based on a complaint lodged by 6th respondent, police are harassing and threatening the petitioner with dire consequences and forcing him to settle the dispute with 6th respondent.

Learned Government Pleader produced written instructions and the copies of notices issued under Section 41(1)/41-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C) on 08.06.2018, 02.11.2018 and 08.02.2019.

Learned Government pleader would submit that inspite of several notices issued, petitioner did not respond and notices issued are only in pursuant to the crime registered against him and the allegation of harassment is not valid. 5.

Having regard to the nature of crime registered and having regard to the submissions made by learned Government Pleader, learned counsel for petitioner submits that within one week petitioner would submit his response to the notices issued in a written form.

Subject to petitioner responding to the notices already issued under Section 41(1)/41-A of Cr.P.C., within one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order, police shall not

- 3 - unnecessarily call the petitioner to police station, unless required for cogent reasons and after due consideration of the written response submitted by the petitioner. 7.
