The petitioner filed this writ petition challenging the punishment of deferment of two annual increments with cumulative effect.

When this matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation and in view of the same, the cause in this writ petition does not survive. 3.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
