Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Home.

The petitioner alleges that even though no crime is registered against him, police are harassing, intimidating and calling him to the police station number of occasions without any justification and the same would amount to affecting the right to life and liberty, without following due process of law.

As per the written instructions furnished to the learned Government Pleader from the Inspector of Police, Afzalgunj Police Station, Hyderabad, respondent No.5 lodged a complaint on 06.02.2019 against the petitioner. Basing on the said complaint, GD Entry was made and investigation has been taken up. According to the police, the complainant was examined. The allegations of intimidation and calling the petitioner to the police station are denied. Except making the allegation that the police are calling the petitioner to the police station, no material is placed on record to show that without basis police are summoning the petitioner. Hence, the allegations are baseless.

However, as no crime is registered and only GD entry is made for the purpose of conducting preliminary investigation, police may require from the petitioner certain clarifications on the complaint made against

PNR, J W.P.No.3563 of 2019 him. But police shall not unnecessarily call him to the police station and harass him, unless required in the process of investigation. 5.

With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
