None appears for the petitioners as well as for the respondents. This Writ Petition was filed by the four petitioners stating that they are residents of Settigunta road, Nellore Town, Nellore District. They belong to weaker sections of the society. They state that they are in possession of small extents of land i.e., below 8 Ankanams in Survey No.103 of Settigunta Road in Nellore Town, Nellore District. They submitted a representation for allotment of the said land in their favour. In response to the representation the revenue officials were directed to enquire into the matter for allotment of house sites. The land in Survey No.103 was divided into plots and the petitioners were allotted small extents of land in different plot numbers. They constructed houses and the Municipal Corporation of Nellore allotted house numbers.
The pattas were given in the name of the women under 'Gruhini Scheme'. The plots were allotted by issuing proceedings on 13.08.2005 by the third respondent. Their houses were assessed to property tax and they have been paying the same. When the respondents were measuring the land for the purpose of road widening and apprehending that their houses would be affected, they filed the present Writ Petition. This Court, by an order dated 17.04.2012, granted status quo and thereafter no counter affidavit is filed by the respondents.
and possession of the petitioners, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to follow due process of law, if they want any portion of the land of the petitioners for any public purpose. There shall be no order as to costs. The Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
