THE HON'BLE Dr . JUSTI CE SHAMEEM AKTHER CRI MI NAL PETI TI ON No.1 1 4 1 of 2 0 1 9 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., is filed by the petitioners/ A.1 to A.3 seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.737 of 2015 on the file of Special Judicial Magistrate of First Class (Excise), Karimnagar, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A & 506 of IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2 .

Heard both sides. Perused the record.

3 .

Having elaborately argued the matter, the learned counsel for the petitioners/ A.1 to A.3 sought a direction to the trial Court to dispose of the subject Calendar Case expeditiously. In the course of submissions, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioners/ A.1 to A.3 belong to Adilabad District and they have to travel 170 kilometres to attend the trial Court at Karimangar on each and every date of adjournment. As seen from the record, the subject Calendar Case is of the year 2015 and the petitioners/ A.1 to A.3 have attended before the trial Court several times. It is most unfortunate that even after a lapse of more than three years, trial has not commenced yet in the subject Calendar Case. Under these circumstances, the Court below is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the subject Calendar Case within a period of six (06) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4 .

With the above observation/ direction, this Criminal Petition is disposed of.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
