HONOURABLE Dr. JUSTICE B.SIVA SANKARA RAO Crl.P.No.7316 of 2015 ORDER :

This petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (for short, 'the Cr.P.C.') by the Petitioners to quash proceedings in F.I.R.No.158 of 2014 of Undrajavaram Police Station, West Godavari District, registered for an offence punishable under Section 498-A of I.P.C.

2. The 2nd respondent-complainant filed a petition in Crl.P.M.P.No.7226 of 2015, praying to permit her to compromise the matter and another petition in Crl.P.M.P.No.7225 of 2015 praying to quash the proceedings in view of their compromise.

3. The Petitioners and the 2nd respondent/ defacto-complainant present before the Court and stated that they have settled the dispute amicably outside the Court through elders and the compromise between the 2nd respondentcomplainant and accused was reduced in writing in a consent deed dated 18.07.2015, pursuant to which, the 2nd respondent-complainant agreed to withdraw the complaint in the said F.I.R.

4. Having regard to the above, since the offence under Section 498-A of I.P.C. is compoundable as per Section 320 of Cr.P.C., in the interest of justice, permission is accorded by this Court to compound the offence.

5. Accordingly, the petition is allowed and all the proceedings in Cr.No.158 of 2014 of Undrajavaram Police Station, West Godavari District are quashed. The bail bonds of the petitioners, if any, shall stand cancelled.

6. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
