THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.43630 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India is filed seeking to call for records in Crime No.652 of 2016 and consequently to quash the same.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The case of the petitioners is that the 4th respondent lodged the present complaint against the petitioners alleging that the marriage between the 4th respondent and the 1st petitioner was performed on 29.05.2011 and at the time of marriage, her parents gave an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- and 1 tula of gold ornaments as dowry. After few days, the 1st petitioner along with petitioners 2 & 3, who are mother and sister of 1st petitioner, started harassing the 4th respondent both physically and mentally to bring additional dowry and they abused her in filthy language and that the 4th respondent is residing in her parents' house since three years. The main grievance of the petitioners is that the 3rd respondent, with the instigation of the 4th respondent, is trying to arrest the petitioners.

Considering the grievance of the petitioners, the 3rd respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.652 of 2016 as expeditiously as possible and file a final report, if any, either way in accordance with law, without arresting the petitioners. The petitioners are directed to execute personal bond for a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) each with one surety for the like sum each to the satisfaction of the 3rd

respondent as surety for their future appearance for the purpose of investigation.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
