HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE Dr. SHAMEEM AKTHER WRIT PETITION NO.8675 OF 2017 ORDER: (per Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) After arguing for some time Sri I. Koti Reddy, Learned Counsel for the petitioner, submitted that it would suffice, instead of adjudicating the petitioner's contention on merits, if the respondent bank is directed to consider the petitioner's request for grant of one time settlement.

The decision whether or not to grant one time settlement is required to be taken by the bank, and it is not for this Court to direct the bank to do so. We consider it appropriate, therefore, to direct the respondent bank to consider the petitioner's representation seeking one time settlement, and communicate their decision to him at the earliest preferably within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
