This writ petition is initially filed seeking to continue the services of the petitioner upto the age of 60 years. This Court had granted interim direction to the respondents to continue the services of the petitioner until further orders.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents that pursuant to the interim orders granted by this court, the services of the petitioner was continued for two more years and thereafter he retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. 3.

In that view of the matter, learned Standing Counsel submits that the relief claimed in the writ petition stands granted and the writ petition has worked itself out. However, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that inasmuch as petitioner continued up to the age of 60 years, the retirement benefits as applicable may be directed to be paid.

I have considered the respective submissions. The main relief as claimed in the writ petition itself stands granted and insofar as the retirement benefits are concerned, it shall be open for the petitioner to approach the respondent authorities by making a representation.

As and when such a representation is made, the same shall be considered and appropriate orders be passed in accordance with law. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
