Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the action of respondent No. 1 in not completing investigation and filing charge sheet in Crime No.84 of 2017 of III Town Police Station, Kakinada, East Godavari District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 506 and 509 of IPC, as illegal and arbitrary. 3.
Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer seeking a direction to respondent No.1 to complete the investigation, at the earliest, and file a final report. 4.
Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, states that the investigation is still going on and as soon as it is completed, a final report would be filed. 5.
Having regard to the submission made across the Bar, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.1 to complete the investigation in Crime No.84 of 2017 of III Town Police Station, Kakinada, East Godavari District, and file a final report, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
