HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE DILIP B. BHOSALE AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No. 26952 OF 2005 ORDER: (per the Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale) Heard learned counsel for the parties.

This writ petition, in the nature of public interest, seeks the following four prayers:

"a. Direct the respondents No.1 and 2 to make public the steps and measures taken by it for disaster management and related aspects of providing relief to the vulnerable sections of the society;

b. Direct the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to disclose the losses sustained in the implementation of the World Bank funded Disaster Management Project;

c. Direct the 1st respondent to fix the responsibility and accountability for the same; and d. Direct the State Government to accomplish the Disaster Management Project forthwith so as to ensure the benefits therefrom to percolate to the vulnerable sections of the society and pass such order or further orders as are deemed fit and proper in the circumstances of the case." Sri D. Ramesh, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.1 and 2 submits that respondent Nos.1 and 2 shall furnish the information as sought in prayer clauses (a) and (b), to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from today. On such statement being made, Sri Abhinand Kumar Shavili, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this petition may be disposed of keeping it open to the petitioner to file fresh petition for the remaining two prayers, if the circumstances so demand.

In view thereof, we dispose of this writ petition with the following order:

"Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 are directed to furnish the information as prayed for in prayer clauses (a) and (b) to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from today. On receiving the information, if the petitioner deems it fit and proper, and if advised, may file fresh writ petition for the remaining two prayers." Miscellaneous petitions, if any, also stand disposed of. No order as to costs.
