By an order dated 04.01.2007, the petitioner was imposed punishment of recovery of pecuniary loss to a tune of Rs.3,90,000/-. The petitioner claims that on 07.03.2007, the petitioner preferred statutory appeal before the Deputy Chairman and Appellate Authority, Visakhapatnam. Alleging inaction in disposing of the said appeal, the petitioner filed this Writ Petition. 2.
Learned Standing Counsel for the Visakhapatnam Port Trust submits that the appeal is not disposed of on the ground that the petitioner retired from service and time may be granted to the respondents to pass orders on the said appeal. 3.
Having regard to the said submission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Port Area, Visakhapatnam, the 2nd respondent, to pass appropriate orders on the appeal, dated 07.03.2007, filed by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
