Pursuant to the notification dated 31.05.2018, to various categories of posts in the police department, the petitioner was called on to participate in physical efficiency test held on 20.02.2019. Accordingly, the petitioner participated, but was disqualified in the 100 meters run. During physical efficiency test, a candidate is required to participate in 100 meters run, shot put and long jump. However, the lady candidate has to clear at first the 100 meters run and if the person does not clear it, she will not be subjected to other physical efficiency test. Apparently, the petitioner did not qualify in the 100 meters run. This Writ Petition is filed alleging that the petitioner was suffering with high fever at the time of test and an oral request was made for conducting physical efficiency test after a week, but the request was not accepted and on account of her ill-health, she could not clear the 100 meters run. In support of her contention, medical prescription issued by the family physician on 19.02.2019 is filed as Ex.P6. 3.

No material is placed on record to show that a request was made for postponement of physical efficiency test. But on the contrary, the petitioner has participated in the physical efficiency test, but failed in 100 meters run. The medical prescription does not indicate as to what were the ailments suffered by the petitioner and it is not an authenticated medical document as it was issued by a private physician,

PNR, J W.P.No.4659 of 2019 who appears to be a homeopathy doctor. Based on the said medical prescription, it cannot be held that she was actually suffering with fever on the day when the test was conducted and because of the fever she could not clear 100 meters run. Thus, no relief can be granted to the petitioner.

Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
