This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ A.1 to quash the proceedings in Crime No.15 of 2019 of Anthargoan Police Station, Ramagundam District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 506 read with 34 of IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.1, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the 1st respondent-State and perused the record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.1 would contend that there are no grounds to register the First Information Report against the petitioner/ A.1 and proceed with the investigation. It tantamounts to abuse of process of the Court and ultimately prayed to allow the application. 4 .

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor contended that there are sufficient grounds to proceed with the investigation against the petitioner/ A.1 and ultimately prayed to dismiss the application.

In the First Information Report, dated 26.01.2019, there is specific mention of dowry demand etc., against the petitioner/ A.1, constituting offences punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 506 read with 34 of IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry

Prohibition Act, 1961. Under these circumstances, it cannot be said that there are no grounds to register the First Information Report and continuation of investigation against the petitioner/ A.1 would amount to abuse of process of the Court. The Criminal petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed.
