ORDER:
Seizure of 6765.52 quintals of paddy, 1186.75 quintals of rice, 125 quintals of broken rice and 38 bags of bran, without notice and opportunity to the petitioner to explain the variation in stocks, is questioned in this writ petition.
At the hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Civil Supplies (AP) on instructions submitted that the proceedings initiated under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 following the impugned order were concluded and a final order dt.8.6.2012 was passed by respondent No.2 confiscating 5% of the seized stocks. In view of this subsequent event, the cause in the writ petition does not survive for adjudication.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of as infructuous. As a sequel to disposal of the writ petition, W.P.M.P. No.7250 of 2012 shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
