ORDER

This Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct the respondent to correct the name of the deceased person from 'Dundugula Laxmamma' to 'Dundugula Gangamma' in crime No.85 of 2016 of Kachiguda Police Station, Hyderabad.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the State.

3. The case of the petitioner is that name of his wife is 'Dundugula Gangamma', who died in the railway accident. But, the police in the F.I.R. which was issued on 24.04.2016 under Section 174 Cr.P.C. recorded her name as 'Dundugula Laxmamma'.

The request of the petitioner cannot be countenanced in this proceedings. If the name of the person, who died in the accident is 'Dundugula Gangamma', this Court cannot direct the police to change her name and it is for the police to enquire into the same.

5. In that view of the matter, this Criminal Petition is dismissed, as there are no merits.

6. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
