This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.67 of 2018 of Keesara Police Station, Rachakonda Commissionerate, registered for the offences alleged under Section 498A I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2 .
Heard learned counsel for the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/ State. Perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 would submit that there are no grounds to register the F.I.R. and to investigate the case and ultimately, prayed to allow the petition.

In the F.I.R., dated 28.02.2018, there is specific mention of petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 demanding additional dowry and harassing respondent No.2/ de facto complainant, even after the birth of a female child. There are sufficient grounds to register the F.I.R. against the petitioners/ accused Nos.1 to 3 for the offences alleged and to proceed with investigation. The petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed. 5 .
Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
