THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.563 of 2014

ORDER :

The writ petition was disposed of directing the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration who was 2nd respondent in the writ petition to issue necessary clarification as sought by the Land Acquisition Officer within a period of three weeks and on receipt of such clarification the Special Deputy Collector, (4th respondent) in the writ petition, should take further action as warranted by law.

It was further observed that in case, the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration clarification is in favour of the petitioners, appropriate compensation payable to the petitioners should be settled within a period of six weeks thereafter.

2. Learned Government Pleader produced proceedings of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) dated 27.10.2014 elaborately discussing the issue. The CCLA clarified to the Land Acquisition Officer that the land in issue is classified as Government Poromboke. Though there is some delay in passing orders as directed by this Court, the fact remains that CCLA has passed orders as directed by this Court.

3. Having regard to the same, the Contempt Case is closed leaving it open to the petitioners to work out their remedies. There shall be no order as to costs.

4. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Contempt Case shall stand closed.
