This Criminal Petition is filed under Sections 437 and 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short "Cr.P.C.") seeking to enlarge the petitioner/Accused No.1 on bail in connection with NCB.F.No.48/1/5/2021/NCB/SUB-ZONE/HYD on the file of the Intelligence Office, Narcotics Control Bureau, Hyderabad Sub-Zone, Telangana registered for the offence punishable under Section 8(c) read with Section 20(b)(ii)(C), 27A, 28 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Heard Sri Palle Srihari Nath, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri B.Narsimha Sharma learned standing counsel for the respondent and perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, petitioner is Accused No.1 in NCB F.No.48/1/5/2021/NCB/SUB-ZONE/HYD, though the charge sheet is filed in the month of September, 2021 the Trial Court failed to proceed with the Trial. The petitioner and other accused are languishing in jail for the last one year.

In the said circumstances, to meet the ends of justice the Trial Court i.e. XIII Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Cyberabad at L.B.Nagar Ranga Reddy District is directed to fix schedule and complete trial within a period of six (06) months. The petitioner is at liberty to move for bail after the prescribed period of six (06) months.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. 6.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
