Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Services appearing for the respondents. 2.

All the petitioners are working as Assistant Directors of Town Planning in various organizations under the control of 1st respondent. The next higher post is Deputy Director of Town Planning. Orders were issued on 20-07-2013 for merging the post of Town Planning Officer (Ordinary Grade) into Town Planning Officer (Special Grade) and re-designated as Town Planning Officer and the post was also made as gazetted post.

Petitioners gave a representation dt.14-11-2017 to the respondents for promotion to the posts of Deputy Director of Town Planning by counting the service rendered in the categories of Town Planning Officer (Special Grade) and Assistant Director of Town Planning for the purpose of promotion to the post of Deputy Directors and not condoning the shortfall in minimum service as was done for cases of other similarly situated persons.

Petitioners contend that their case was also recommended for consideration by 2nd respondent in a letter dt.19-08-2017 but the 1st respondent has not taken any decision thereon.

Learned Government Pleader for Services appearing for respondents states that 1st respondent will consider the recommendation dt.19-08-2017 of 2nd respondent as well as the representation dt.14-11-2017 of the petitioners and communicate his decision to the petitioners within six weeks. 6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing 1st respondent to consider the recommendation dt.19-08-2017 of 2nd respondent as well as the representation dt.14-11-2017 of the petitioners and communicate his decision to the petitioners within six weeks. No costs.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
