Petitioners challenge seizure of rice effected by panchanama dated 14.11.2016 of third respondent as contrary to the Essential Commodities Act (for short 'the Act') and unconstitutional. 2.

Petitioners aver that they are farmers and the stock seized is the stock of petitioners and the provisions of the Act are not attracted. On 18.11.2016, petitioners represented to second respondent for release of seized stocks. The representation is pending as on date. 3.

To meet the ends of justice, the writ petition is disposed of by this order:

a) Petitioners are given liberty to resubmit the representation along with copy of this order within one week from today.

b) On such representation being made, the second respondent is directed to pass orders on the request of petitioners dated 18.11.2016 within ten (10) days therefrom.
