This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ A.1, seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.143 of 2013 on the file of the Chagalamarri Police Station, Kurnool District, registered for the offences under Sections 403, 406, 420, 506 read with 34 of I.P.C. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.1, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the 1st respondent-State and perused the record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.1 would submit that long back, First Information Report was issued in this case. The petitioner/ A.1 is suffering from more than 80% disability. She is not responsible for the allegations made in the First Information Report. However, she has been called to the police station and continuously harassed. She is a Government employee. She is being made to sit in the police station for the whole day, which is hampering her employment and ultimately prayed to allow the application.

The learned Assistant Public Prosecutor opposed the relief sought by the petitioner/ A.1.

The point for determination is whether the proceedings in Crime No.143 of 2013 on the file of the Chagalamarri Police Station, Kurnool District, are liable to be quashed.

As seen from the First Information Report, there are allegations constituting offences under Sections 403, 406, 420, 506 read with 34 of I.P.C. The truth or otherwise of the allegations made against the petitioner/ A.1 would be decided on completion of investigation and filing of the final report. Therefore, investigation has to go on. There are no merits to concede the request of the petitioner/ A.1 7 .

The instant crime is a long pending crime. The Investigating Officer ought to have completed the investigation by this time. He did not do so, for the reasons known to him. Under these circumstances, the Investigating Officer is directed to complete the investigation of this crime and file charge-sheet/ final report, as the case may be, before the Court concerned, within a period of six

(06) months from the date of this order.

The Criminal Petition is disposed of accordingly. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
