Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri R. Vinod Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited appearing for respondents 1 to 4 and Sri Sampath Prabhakar Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) appearing for respondent No.5.

Petitioner claims that he is the owner of land to an extent of 700 square yards, along with single room portion constructed thereon in plot No.5, situated at Sri Swamy Ayyappa Cooperative Housing Society Limited, Madhapur, Hyderabad. He claims that he submitted an application to the respondent authorities for grant of electricity connection enclosing the copy of sale deed, but the same was refused. Having left with no alternative, the petitioner has sent the application along with relevant documents through registered post. In spite of receipt of registered post by the respondents, they are not granting electricity supply on the ground that GHMC directed HMWS & SB and APCPDCL authorities not to accord any service connection to the houses/apartments constructed in Gurukul Ghatkesar Lands.

It is seen from the material on record that so far petitioner has not applied for providing electric power supply connection. Therefore, he cannot allege that the respondent-Company is not providing power supply connection.

In view of the same, the Writ Petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to apply for electric power supply connection by complying all the norms as required by the respondent-Company. As and when such application is made, the respondent-Company is directed to provide individual service connection to the single room of the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of submission of such application and provision of such power supply connection shall be subject to further direction that may be issued by the State of Telangana or the Supreme Court in the litigation pending before it arising out of the judgment dated 12.09.2012 in W.P.No.20407 of 2008 and batch.
