This Writ Petition is filed seeking Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not permitting the petitioner to participate in the events i.e. PMT and PET to the post of Sub Inspector (SI) of Police which was conducted at Hyderabad and other places in the State of Telangana on or before 22-03-2019 though the petitioner is fully eligible for the said post and also having qualifying height of 167.6 cms for the said Police Constable (PC) and Sub Inspector Posts without considering the request letter of the petitioner dated 15-03-2019 as illegal and arbitrary and violative of Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to allow the petitioner to participate in the PMT and PET events for the posts of PC and SI of Police in the interest of justice. 2.

Heard Sri Syam Sundar Kondapalli, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri M.V.Rama Rao, learned Standing counsel for the 2nd respondent.

It has been contended by the petitioner that he is fully eligible and qualified to the post of SI of Police and the respondents have issued a notification for filling up the posts of SI and PC. The petitioner had participated in the selection process but the case of the petitioner is not being considered even though the petitioner's height is 167.6 cm. The respondents have erroneously calculated the height

AKS,J W.P.No.5879 of 2019 of the petitioner and disqualified the petitioner. In those set of circumstances, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents on 15-03-2019 requesting the respondents to re-measure the height of the petitioner and permit him to participate in the selection process for the posts of SI and PC. 4.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents has submitted that the case of the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed on the representation submitted by the petitioner in accordance with law.

This Court, having considered the submissions made by the parties, is of the view that the Writ Petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider representation dated 15-03-2019 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above observations, these writ petitions are disposed of. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
