THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.45198 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India is filed seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.75 of 2016 on the file of 3rd respondent.

Today, when the matter is taken up for admission, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner and the de facto complainant in Crime No.75 of 2016, who is the 4th respondent herein entered into compromise and settled the dispute and therefore, seeks to quash the proceedings in Crime No.75 of 2016 on the file of 3rd respondent.

The parties are present before this Court. On enquiry, the complainant-4th respondent asserted that due to intervention of elders, she settled the dispute with the petitioner and she has no objection in quashing the proceedings in Crime No.75 of 2016. In view of the compromise entered between the petitioner and the de facto complainant-4th respondent, this Court is of the view that no purpose would be served in keeping the proceedings pending in Crime No.75 of 2016 on the file of 3rd respondent.

Hence, the Writ Petition is allowed and the proceedings in Crime No.75 of 2016 on the file of 3rd respondent are hereby quashed as against the petitioner. No costs.
