This application is filed seeking extension for concluding and passing Award in the Arbitration proceedings pending before the Arbitral Tribunal consisting of Hon'ble Mr. Justice (Retd) S.S. Nijjar, Mr. Sudipto Sarkar, Senior Counsel and Mr. Alan Thambiayah.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that due to certain unforeseeable circumstances and reasons beyond the control of the parties and the Arbitral Tribunal, the hearing scheduled between 3 December 2018 and 7 December 2018 could not be completed and had to be adjourned. Based upon the mutual agreement of the parties and the availability of the Arbitral Tribunal, the final hearings were postponed and scheduled to be conducted between 2 February 2019 and 5 February 2019; and therefore requests for extension of time by six months. Learned counsel appearing for respondents 1 to 6 reports no objection as the arbitration is at an advanced stage. Having considered the respective submissions, the writ petition is disposed of by granting extension till 24.10.2019, for completion of proceedings before the Arbitral Tribunal. No costs.
