When the matter is taken up for hearing, the Standing Counsel appearing for respondents has submitted that the petitioner has retired from service, therefore, the cause in the writ petition does not survive for adjudication.

Counsel for petitioner does not dispute the said submission of the Standing Counsel.

In view of the same, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No order as to costs.
