THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.1921 of 2016 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition is filed by the petitioners - A2 to A5 under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to quash the proceedings in FIR No.5 of 2016 of Rapthadu Police Station, Rapthadu, Ananthapur District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498(A) and 307 r/w.34 IPC.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The allegation against the petitioners is that they, along with A1, harassed the de facto complainant demanding additional dowry. A perusal of the complaint discloses that the allegations are mainly against A1, husband of the de facto complainant, only. Considering the nature of allegations and also the facts and circumstances of the case, the police concerned are directed to complete the investigation without arresting the petitioners and file final report, if any. The petitioners are directed to appear before the investigating agency as and when their presence is required and cooperate with the investigation.

With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions pending in this criminal petition, if any, shall stand closed ______________ RAJA ELANGO, J February 17, 2016.
