This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is fled by the petitioner/ accused, to quash the proceedings in Crime No.76 of 2019 of Panjagutta Police Station, Hyderabad District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 468, 471, 419, 420, 506 & 467 of IPC. 2 .

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the 1st respondentState and perused the record. 3 .

It has been contended on behalf of the petitioner/ accused that a false First Information Report was lodged with the police concerned. This petitioner/ accused is being unnecessarily harassed. No cognizable offence is made out against the petitioner/ accused and ultimately prayed to allow the application.

In the subject First Information Report, there is specific mention of the petitioner/ accused making telephone calls to the defacto complainant claiming to be Yashwanth Sinha, former Finance Minister of India. On suspicion, the de-facto complainant lodged a report with the police after receipt of a fake recommendation letter, dated 26.07.2017, purportedly sent from the President's Secretariat, Rashtrapathi Bhawan, New Delhi. The de-facto complainant had also incorporated the reasons and the cause for delay in lodging the subject report. In the report lodged by the de-facto complainant,

there are specific allegations against the petitioner/ accused constituting offences punishable under Sections 468, 471, 419, 420, 506 & 467 of IPC. The matter requires thorough investigation. There is no substance in the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner/ accused. The Criminal Petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed.

Hence, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
