HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No. 17115 of 2016 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, Government Pleader for Higher Education and Sri A.Abhishek Reddy, Standing Counsel for respondent No.3. With the consent of all the parties, the present writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed with the following prayer: "Issue a writ of mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondent in taking steps for conduct of EAMCET-AC, PGCET-AC, ICET-AC and ECET-AC to be conducted by the Association of Colleges (CET's-AC) for the academic year 2016-2017 for admitting students into private unaided institutions offering technical educational courses in terms of the Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test for entry into Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Medical and Dental Courses Rules, 2011, as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 30 (1) of the constitution of India; and consequently direct the respondent Nos.1 to 3 to take further steps forthwith pursuant to the notification dated 19.03.2016 and the application submitted by the first petitioner on 02.04.2016 in terms of Rule 11 (2), (3) and

(4) of the Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test for entry into Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Medical and Dental Courses and for the purpose of conducting CET's AC and making admissions thereof under SW-III for admitting students into professional courses for the academic year 2016-2017."

At the time when the matter is taken up for hearing, it is represented by both the counsels that the state Council has sent

a proposal to AFRC, who inturn issued a notification for nomination of a Convenor. In view of the above, both the counsels submit that a direction to the AFRC to expedite the process would be sufficient.

Having regard to the submissions made, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.4 to appoint a Convenor for the academic year 2016-2017 in respect of proposal sent by the State Council and complete the process as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three (03) weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. There shall be no order as to costs.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
