O R D E R

The grievance of the petitioner is that the Project Officer, ITDA, Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, is not disposing of the appeal submitted by him as long back as on 20.01.2016. This appeal arose out of the rejection of the petitioner's claim for grant of a patta in relation to the land admeasuring two hectares in Survey No.44/1 part of Pidakulamadugu Village, Dummugudem Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District (erstwhile Khammam District).

The learned Government Pleader for Social Welfare would inform this Court that the appeal is still pending consideration. It is not open to a statutory quasi-judicial authority to keep an appellate remedy provided to the citizens in animated suspension for such a long time. The very purpose of prescribing a hierarchy of statutory remedies would be lost by such undue delay.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of directing the Project Officer, ITDA, Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, to dispose of the petitioner's pending appeal expeditiously and in any event, not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, be it from whatever source.

Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
