HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No. 22406 of 2005 ORDER:
The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus declaring Award No.AGM(Comml) Central/HTD/Arb/8/27661124-HD/03-04/13 dated 20.10.2003 passed by the 3rd respondent as illegal and arbitrary, and consequently, to direct the respondents not to insist the petitioner to pay amount towards the calls made to disputed telephone Nos.4458192, 4458910, 4459069 and 4459071 and also not to disconnect the telephone No.27661124 belonging to the petitioner.
On 14.10.2015, this Court, while issuing rule nisi, directed respondents 1 and 2 not to disconnect the telephone No.27661124 belonging to the petitioner.
At the time when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned standing counsel for BSNL placed on record a letter No.SL/HC/3297/2005/12 dated 18.09.2015 issued by the Office of the Principal General Manager, Hyderabad Telecom Dist., BSNL Bhavan, Hyderabad, in which it is stated that the petitioner's telephone No.27661124 is under suspension with effect from 23.04.2013 for non-payment of a telephone bill and the last bill paid by her was for the month of November, 2012. It is also stated in the letter that the deposit of Rs.1,000/- made by the petitioner was adjusted towards outstanding dues, and as on date, an amount of Rs.409/- is due from the petitioner. It is represented by the learned standing counsel that steps will be
taken to adjust/waive the amount.
In view of the above, I am of the opinion that no orders need be passed in the writ petition.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
Consequently, miscellaneous petitions if any pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
