Heard the learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Home, appearing for respondents.

Petitioner claims to be owner of Maruti Wagon-R VXI with registration No.TS 29B 3231 standing in the name of his wife Smt.Mandadhi Rama Sudhakar. The petitioner allege that on 11.3.2019, when he was returning from Gachibowli to Nalgonda after attending a marriage function, the police conducted a drunk and drive check at Toll Plaza Puppalaguda and found that the petitioner violated provisions of Section 185, 130/177 and registered a petty case against the petitioner on 11.3.2019 and seized the vehicle and directed the petitioner to attend for counselling. Alleging inaction on the part of the respondent Police in not releasing the petitioner's vehicle, the present writ petition is filed.

Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the petitioner has not approached the police with relevant documents showing ownership of the vehicle, therefore, the vehicle could not be released. He further submits that the police are ready to release the vehicle if proper documents are produced showing ownership of the vehicle.

The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the 3rd respondent-Station House Officer (Traffic), Gachibowli Police Station, Gachibowli, Cyberabad, Ranga Reddy district along with relevant documents showing ownership of the subject vehicle on 18.4.2019 and if such documents are produced and on due verification of ownership claim, the subject vehicle shall be released forthwith.

With the above observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
