HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE Dr. SHAMEEM AKTHER WRIT PETITION NO.6641 OF 2017 ORDER: (per Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) The action of the respondents in not considering the petitioner's representation against the 6th respondent is questioned in this Writ Petition. The 6th respondent is contesting to the office of the MLC teachers' constituency. The petitioner alleges that the 6th respondent belongs to a community other than what he has declared his nomination form. Learned Government Pleader for revenue would submit that the elections are in progress today, and the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive. As the elections are being held today, the question of declaring the 6th respondent ineligible to contest the elections does not arise.

The Writ Petition has become infructtuous and is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No costs.
