ORDER

Initially, the petitioner was appointed as Village Revenue Assistant, Bhupalapally Mandal in the year 1983. Subsequently, he was promoted as Attender in the year 1994 and Junior Assistant during the year 2012 and working as such. While so, based on the news item published in the newspaper, alleging certain irregularities against the petitioner, the 1st respondent called for an explanation vide proceedings dated 23.09.2017. Pursuant to the same, the petitioner submitted his explanation on 26.09.2016. Based on the complaint lodged by the 4th respondent, a case in Cr.No.108 of 2016 on the file of Mahadevpur Police Station was registered against the petitioner and others. The petitioner was remanded to judicial custody and thereafter, released on bail. As the petitioner was in judicial custody for more than 48 hours, the 1st respondent suspended him vide proceedings dated 31.5.2017 till the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner. A perusal of the impugned order shows that the suspension order was passed pending the disciplinary proceedings.

Now, it is stated that after passing of the order of suspension, charge memo was also issued and the petitioner submitted his explanation to the same.

In view of the same, the 1st respondent is directed to complete the enquiry as expeditiously as possible, but not later than two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to observe that the petitioner shall co-operate for completion of the enquiry.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
