The present writ petition is filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, challenging the inaction of the 5th respondent in investigating into Crime No.20 of 2016 and seeking a direction to respondents Nos.2 and 3 to take appropriate action against the 5th respondent.

The main grievance of the petitioners is that on the complaint lodged by them against the 6th respondent and others, the above crime was registered, but respondents Nos.4 and 5 are not investigating into the above crime.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the grievance of the petitioners, without expressing any opinion on merits, respondents Nos.4 and 5 are directed to conduct investigation in the above crime, complete the same and file a final report in either way, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.
