ORDER:
This contempt case is filed alleging wilful disobedience of order dt.6.1.2012 in Writ Petition No.461 of 2012, whereunder this Court has directed respondent No.1 to take an appropriate decision on letter No.2239/For.III/2009, dt.17.10.2011, of the
Special Chief Secretary to Government, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, with regard to the renewal of licences of the petitioners' saw mills included in the list of 185 saw mills within three months from the date of receipt of copy of the order. At the hearing, it has come out that no notice has been served on respondent No.2, and that, however, he has engaged Mr. A.D.N. Rao, learned counsel, to appear on his behalf in this contempt case.
Mr. A.D.N. Rao, learned counsel for respondents, has submitted that the aforementioned order of this Court has been duly complied with by the Central Empowered Committee as far back as 23.3.2012 by examining all the 185 applications for renewal, including the applications of the petitioners, and forwarding the same to the Supreme Court for passing appropriate orders, by making specific recommendations. A copy of the said proceedings has been placed before this Court in support of his submission.
Ms. A. Deepthi, learned counsel for the petitioners, on going through the said report, has fairly agreed that the respondents have complied with the order of this Court by duly forwarding their recommendations to the Hon'ble Supreme Court, before which the matter is stated to be pending.
In the light of the above facts, this Court is convinced that the respondents have complied with the order of this Court and accordingly the contempt case is closed. ________________________ C.V. NAGARJUNA REDDY, J 01-10-2015 bnr
